Three Doctors

Ed experiences a case of sleep flying. He wakes up high in a tree and on top of The Brick. Leonard diagnoses him and tells him he has been called as a healer but he must run a test. Leonard sticks Ed's hand in the ground and when he finally pulls it out he has a hand full of roots. Leonard tells Ed he has been called to be a Shamen. Ed gets ready to becomes a Shamen but Leonard warns him to think it over very carefully.
Joel comes down with a strange illness called Glacier Dropsy. At first Joel doesn't believe the diagnosis of Holling and Ruth-Anne and he thinks they are crazy. He thinks he has just an ordinary illness but then he crashes his truck and Maggie runs to his aid. Joel is sent to bed but he gets bad tempered and calls Maggie a moron. The townsfolk watch over him day and night until he gets better.
Shelly's singing days have come to an end. She tries to sing Happy Birthday but finds she can't. She becomes upset about this but Leonard tells her she was simply worried about her baby and that eveything is going to be okay.
