Joel nearly hits a man while driving back one night. He finds out that the man in question
is named Ned and that he is one of Cicely's first residents. He tells Joel the story of
Cicely and how it was a primitive and backward town that was controlled by an
outlaw named Mace. Then one day Cicely and Rosyln arrived and things
began to change. Cicely and Rosyln set up a Salon and decided to clean up the town.
The pair changed the lives of Ned who was a primitive who begged for food in the
street, Sally who was a hooker and all the people of Cicely by giving them culture
and the belief to fight for freedom.
In the end there is a final battle between the citizens of Cicely and Mace and his
gang. Cicely dies in the battle and after that day the town in named Cicely.
