Joel finds out that he is sharing his cabin with a ghost called Jack. When Joel finds out he flips out. Maggie chides him and then enlists the help of an exorcist to rid the cabin of the unwanted spirit. Joel changes his mind however and believes Jack needs sympathy and not to be cast out. Joel learns that he and Jack have a lot in common and so in the end he warms to the idea of his ghostly room mate. Maggie tells Joel that like Jack he has no friends. Joel then throws a party to prove her wrong.

Hypocondriac Eve arrives in Joel's office saying that she is ill. While Joel does some tests on her she tries to play nurse to the other patients. In the end Joel discovers she is pregnant.

Maurice's former commanding officer comes to town but when he asks Maurice for money, Maurice crashes his car in shock and he learns that the Colonel is only human.
