Our Tribe

When a native American Indian Mrs. Noanuk offers to pay Joel with a goat for medical treatment, Joel declines but this only causes Mrs. Noanuk to offer him a chance at becoming a member of her tribe. Joel doesn't want to become a member of her tribe and Marilyn takes his refusal as an insult. Marilyn then gives Joel the silent treatment until he finally accepts the offer. Joel is required to give away all his possessions which upsets him immensely especially when he finds out he might not be getting any of them back. Joel panics when he thinks he may have to go through a painful initiation ritual. Joel must next search for his vision and he follows Ed into the woods to do so. At the end Joel become a member of the tribe in a pain free inititation ceremony at a hall as Heals With Tools.
Holling closes the Brick and sends Shelly to Saskatoon. He claims that he is repolishing the floor but Maggie becomes suspicious and eventually finds out that he is stargazing instead. Holling tells her he is looking for a star he bought for a woman named Elanor forty years ago. Holling tells Maggie he tried to let Elanor know where to look for the star in the sky but he later found out that she had died. This he sadly points out is his last chance to see the star before it vanishes forever.
