Elaine returns to Cicely after her old Judge husband dies. She hopes to rekindle the fires
of love she once shared with Joel. Joel is at first angry and understandably bitter about the
whole situation and will not forgive her. Later Joel beings to warm up to Elaine again but
in the end Elaine leaves because some things are not meant to be.
Chris's brother Bernard also returns to Cicely with the hope of giving Chris half of his inheritance.
Chris experiences weird dreams of African dancers and starts to believe that the money can
make them come true. Eventually however Chris realizes that a trip to Africa is for Bernard
and not for himself.
Adam is desperate for money and when he fails to obtain any from Joel he makes a bet
with Holling. In the bet he wagers that he can have people lining up around the block to
get into the Brick. Of course Adam wins the wager.
Adam gives Maggie some fascinating free psychotherapy when he tells her how things
really are.
