Joel's patient Soapy Sanderson commits suicide after Joel advises him to start thinking about the future.
Maggie and Joel later find that they have been included in Soapy's will. He has left them
a sizable parcel of land. Maggie wants to turn the land into a wilderness preserve but a group
of Indians wish to purchase the land. They offer Joel a large amount of money and Joel accepts
their offer but he neglects to tell Maggie about the deal. When Maggie finds out about his shady land
deal she goes ballistic. Adding fuel to the fire is an incident of romatic confusion between Maggie and Joel.
Meanwhile Ed follows a documentary team around Cicely and gains first hand knowledge of the film
industry.
